AERO 2009

Aero India is an air show that takes place biannually in Bangalore at the Yelahanka Air Force Station. One of the premier aviation exhibitions in Asia, the show was first held in the year 1996 and has acquired the position of being the fourth largest air show in the world. Managed jointly by the Ministry of Defence and the Confederation of Indian Industry, it has emerged out as a niche on the international arena to a renowned aerospace exposition. It has proven to be an ideal platform in bringing together eminent manufacturers, vendors, and suppliers of the aviation industry under one roof. The five-day Aero India 2009, was held at Indian Air Force station in Yelahanka, and saw the participation of 592 companies from 25 countries -- 303 internationally and 289 from India. Dignitaries from India's Ministry of Defence, various ministers, heads of the armed forces, and key research organisations for the Defence Ministry such as DRDO, HAL, BEL and BEML participated in Aero India 2009.
